Hiring Process
What are the minimum requirements to apply for a driving position?
Applicants must have a valid Class 1, a clean driving record, and be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Preference will be given to drivers with aligning industry experience and those that strongly align with our core values.
How do I apply to become a driver with Evans Trucking?
You can apply online through our "Drive with us" page, submit your application in person at our office, or email your resume to our recruiting department.
What does the interview process involve?
The process includes an initial phone screening, an in-person interview, a review of your driving record, and a road test.
How long does the hiring process take?
The process typically takes 1–2 weeks, depending on the speed of background checks and document submission.
Will I need to take a drug test or physical exam?
Yes, all prospective drivers must pass a DOT drug test and physical exam before being hired.
Do you hire recent Class 1 graduates or only experienced drivers?
We primarily hire experienced drivers, but we regularly offer opportunities for recent graduates that align with our core values.

What kind of trucks and equipment do you provide?
Evans Trucking maintains a modern fleet of well-maintained trucks, equipped with the latest safety and communication technology. Primarily we run Freightliners and Westernstars.
How does driver scheduling work?
We offer flexible scheduling and collaborate with drivers to accommodate home time based on their personal preferences. As a long-haul trucking company, we recognize that drivers are often away from home, but we strive to be accommodating and highly value family commitments.
What is the pay structure for drivers at Evans Trucking?
Drivers are paid competitively based on miles driven, with additional bonuses for scaled mileage, tarping & fuel efficiency.
Is there an orientation or training program for new drivers?
Yes, all new drivers attend an orientation program that covers company policies, safety procedures, core values, and route planning. Our training programs are tailored to the experience level of the driver. We regularly train brand new drivers who just received their licences up to drivers with 20+ yrs of experience.

Who can drivers contact for support while on the road?
Our 24/7 dispatch, operations & support team are always available to assist drivers with any logistical issues. We also have 24/7 support from our Operations Managers for emergencies or onroad repairs. We make sure our drivers are never alone on the road.
