From Hauling Hay to a Career That Lasted Decades
"I got into trucking almost by accident. I was married young with a growing family, and after bouncing between seasonal jobs that just weren't cutting it, a friend who farmed asked me to help him haul small square bales to a hay plant. I asked him to teach me how to drive, and by the time we finished that hay season back in 1987, I had my Class 1 CDL. Trucking became my career from that point on.
What makes Evans different is the vision this company has for the future. I've worn a lot of hats here over the years - owner operator, company driver, dispatch, even management - and now I'm back to driving, which I love. Whatever role you're in, you're driving excellently maintained equipment, and as a driver you have the freedom to switch up the type of freight you haul without ever having to switch companies.
